This six-week workshop is designed especially for the pregnant practitioner. You will learn breathing and focusing techniques that will help you to relax during pregnancy and childbirth. You will practice postures that will help to:

• Create more opening in the hips and abdominal region, which will help make space for your baby;
• Alleviate tension in the back, neck and shoulders;
• Create more openness in the chest; and
• Increase circulation to help prevent swelling in the feet and ankles.

As your body changes with pregnancy, so will your yoga practice. We will modify poses based on which trimester you are in and how your are feeling. Most importantly, this class will honor your mother's intuition, reinforce your body awareness and improve your ability to practice self care during pregnancy and into motherhood. This class is also appropriate for post natal students.

Celebrate Spring together with a special Partner Yoga experience led by our amazing Jenn and Jean-Marie!

In this class we will work in pairs, flowing, encouraging and assisting each other in postures. Working in pairs allows us to encourage and support each other into a deeper experience of the poses. The power of touch also helps us to warm and open the heart through the beautiful connection with another. This practice will be playful, fun, and encouraging to any level of practitioner. Grab a friend and join us!

Do you find yourself struggling with life? Do you ever wonder how life might become easier? In this experiential, body-centered workshop, we will consider our relationship with action and surrender. We’ll practice becoming more effective, more skillful and more relaxed in our daily lives.

The concepts we’ll explore will be:

• Passionate non-attachment
• Premature transcendence
• The right use of will
• Taking action releasing the fruits of the action

We’ll draw upon group discussion, mindful communication, journaling, body metaphor and deep relaxation to practice these principles. Come and join us.

Beginners' Yoga Workshop with Gen MacKenzie Sat, Apr 18, 2015 at 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Everybody can do yoga! Our popular Beginners’ Yoga Workshop is specifically tailored for beginning yoga students, and is a wonderful opportunity to get individualized attention and explore and understand the system of yoga.

The workshop will include a 30-minute discussion about the history of yoga, the various styles of yoga, and both the physical and mental benefits of a yoga practice. The remainder of the workshop will focus on a breakdown of the basic postures of yoga with attention to alignment and options for modifications of poses. Included in this segment is an introduction to meditation and discussion of its purpose in a yoga class.
 
The $70 fee includes the workshop and a one-month introductory unlimited class pass for first-time YogaBalance students valid for 6 months after the workshop. Register before Saturday, April 11 and pay just $65!
