This six-week workshop is designed especially for the pregnant practitioner. You will learn breathing and focusing techniques that will help you to relax during pregnancy and childbirth. You will practice postures that will help to:

• Create more opening in the hips and abdominal region, which will help make space for your baby;

• Increase circulation to help prevent swelling in the feet and ankles.

As your body changes with pregnancy, so will your yoga practice. We will modify poses based on which trimester you are in and how your are feeling. Most importantly, this class will honor your mother's intuition, reinforce your body awareness and improve your ability to practice self care during pregnancy and into motherhood. This class is also appropriate for post natal students.

In Restorative Yoga, we practice postures supported by blocks, blankets, bolsters and other props, which allow the body to gently and passively stretch and open. Following the physical practice, we will enjoy an extended relaxation, which will include simple visualization and meditation techniques to bring you to a state of emotional and mental peace.
