YogaBalance Master Instructor Series
Sunday, March 18, 12:30 – 3:30 pm. $60
Learn the basic anatomical principles that will transform your understanding of your hips, and translate into freedom in all of your postures. We’ll use standing, seated and supine postures to increase your range of motion in all directions, and you’ll both release your hips and leave class empowered to continue the opening in your regular practice.
As a former ballet dancer, Natasha knew she had come home when she discovered Yoga in her 20s. That moment of recognition and delight continues to inspire her teaching to this day. Now a Senior Teacher with YogaWorks and Down Under Yoga, and a writer, teacher, and DVD instructor for Yoga Journal, Natasha is known world-wide for her ability to communicate the essence of sophisticated postures and ideas in ways that have a transformative effect upon one’s understanding of Yoga. A dedicated Ashtanga practitioner for many years, she is equally captivated by the precision of the Iyengar system. These two traditions inform her teaching, creating a dynamic and rigorous blend of intelligently sequenced and aligned Vinyasa Flow. Restorative Yoga with Kate
Saturday, March 24, 1:30 – 3:30 pm. $25
Restorative Yoga is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life. As a result of the increasing pace and intensity of our lives, more and more people are suffering from chronic stress, which has been proven to have a significant negative impact on our bodies and minds.
Restorative Yoga is the art of active relaxation. It is a refuge from our busy lives; a time to relax, heal and restore. In Restorative Yoga, we practice supported postures using blocks, blankets, bolsters and other props so that the body can passively stretch and return to a natural state of balance, healing, rest and renewal. This style of yoga give us an opportunity to slow down, be still and to start to gently open physically and emotionally. Even those with an active, dynamic practice will benefit greatly from the inner peace and deep release of this restorative class.
